Welcome

The Florida Office of the Attorney General, Division of Victim Services and Criminal Justice Programs, Bureau of Victim Compensation welcomes you to our website where you can find valuable information about crime victim compensation.

What We Do

In the aftermath of crime, the Florida Bureau of Victim Compensation works to ease the adverse financial hardship suffered by crime victims when the expense cannot be paid by any other source.

The Victim Assistance Network

This website provides information about the programs administered by the Bureau of Victim Compensation, publications used to apply for compensation, answers to frequently asked questions, and contact information. This website also provides access to a paperless compensation management portal available to practitioners who assist victims of crime with compensation referrals. The VANext portal provides training and assists with the data collection needed to process compensation applications and benefit requests. New users requesting access to the secure portal must register, which requires them to read core criteria about program benefits, answer “review” questions, and collect authorization. Approved users may submit applications and/or bills and receive claim/bill status information.
